Container is a kind of standardized container that can be used repeatedly and is convenient for rapid loading and unloading. The common containers are 20 feet, 40 feet, 45 feet and 50 feet. There are also high containers HQ and heavy containers GP, as well as refrigerated containers, open top containers, liquid containers, etc.
At present, dry cargo containers commonly used internationally include:
20 foot cabinet (20gp)
20 x 8 x 8.6 (feet) 5.69 x 2.13 x 2.18 (meters) counterweight: 17.5 tons, loadable volume: 28 cubic meters
This kind of container usually carries heavy goods.
40 foot cabinet (40gp)
40 x 8 x 8.6 (feet) 11.8 x 2.13 x 2.18 (meters) counterweight: 22 tons, loadable volume: 58 cubic meters
This kind of container is usually equipped with light goods.
40 high cabinet (40HQ)
40 x 8 x 9.6 (feet) 11.8 x 2.13 x 2.72 (meters) counterweight: 22 tons, loadable volume: 68 cubic meters
This kind of container is generally equipped with light bubble goods, which is the same as the 40gp counterweight, but it can accommodate 10 cubic meters of goods.
These three containers can transport most of the common trade goods
In addition to the above three commonly used containers, other containers are called special containers. Designed to meet the special loading requirements of some goods. Special containers generally need to be booked from the ship owner when booking space, because it is impossible to equip these special containers in every port. So what are the special containers.
45 high cabinet (45hc)
45 x 8 x 9.6 (feet) 13.5 x 2.13 x 2.71 (meters) counterweight: 29 tons, loadable volume: 78 cubic meters
Compared with ordinary containers, the length of this kind of container is increased by 5 feet
Refrigerated container
The refrigerated cabinet is an insulated container that can maintain the controlled low temperature. It is widely used in fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as foods that need temperature control. Such as meat, vegetables, seafood, drugs and beverages.
At present, there are basically two kinds of refrigerated cabinets used internationally:
a. One is the refrigerated container with refrigerator in the container, which is called mechanic refrigerated container.
b. The other is that there is no refrigerator in the container and there is thermal insulation equipment. There are air inlets and air outlets at both ends of the inner wall of the container. After the box is loaded into the cabin, the cold air is supplied by the ship's refrigeration device. It is called clutch refrigerated container (also known as external refrigerated container).
Open top container
The characteristic of this container is that the top of the container can be easily removed and loaded, and the goods can be easily loaded and unloaded by crane. This kind of container is convenient to carry larger machinery, steel, glass, wood and large sheet materials.
The top of this kind of container can be divided into soft top and hard top. The hardtop is made of sheet steel and can be easily removed and installed by crane. Soft top is generally made of canvas, plastic cloth or coating cloth. When opening the roof, you only need to roll up to one end.
Frame container
This kind of container has no top and side wall, and even the end wall is removed, leaving only the bottom plate and four pillars. The container can be loaded and unloaded from left and right, up and down, front and back. Suitable for loading large and heavy pieces, such as heavy machinery, steel, wood, steel ingots, etc. The frame container is not waterproof. If the goods that are afraid of water want to be packed, they need to be covered with waterproof canvas and sealed well.
There are many kinds of containers, and even there is only one bottom plate. There are also containers that can be synthesized like building blocks.
I will not repeat them here.
There are many more, such as tank container (carrying liquid), automobile container, animal container, clothing container, ventilation container and so on. In order to meet the cargo logistics needs of cargo owners, there are various ways and methods. Shippers can also choose the corresponding containers according to their own needs.
